On the hunt for a company to give 100 hours of my time to over semester break 24 June to 6 July!
First look: Whitebaitmedia (Christchurch), Mukpuddy and Pop-Up Workshop (Auckland)
My plane ticket takes me through Christchurch and MAYBE I could get off and not get back on for Auckland... maybe.
Whitebaitmedia
Their content creator Sean Lewis makes the ArtMad series of how-to-draw videos on youtube. The Corgi episode made me laugh:
Most of them start out as "let's make this..." and then have a funny twist.
Mukpuddy
Cartoon Brew interview
They use Flash and After Effects to make the show.
NZ on Air takes a percentage of profits but allows them to sell the show overseas where and if they want. Barefoot Bandits is playing on Channel 11 Australia.
https://www.facebook.com/mukpuddy/ lots of videos of them making the show!
Pop-Up workshop
The Moe Show Store
13 June. Finally sent out an email to Pop-Up Workshop!
14 June. Finally sent out an email to Mukpuddy!
And they got right back to me! They can't take interns right now, but they're happy to have me do a test that they could look at when they need to staff up. They use Flash puppet rigs.

Jeremy Dillon emailed me back! Yay! No internships as they're wrapping up post production but I can go visit them when I'm in Auckland.
I called a client who works for a major bank, but she's in NYC so that's a no go, for now. I know someone else at that bank and I MIGHT call her.
I'm waiting for my reference JL to respond to my text before I hit him up for an internship. That's in progress, too.
My mate Nikola has worked in and with advertising agencies around Auckland for years. I called her up for some inside info and she offered to send my CV and website around to people she knows. Yay! Also in progress.
