BDM124, Stop motion, quick storyboard for story beats, 3 August

Opening Image: Child's Bedroom, night. Shadows fill the room and a grizzled old TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT lies next to a sleeping child.
LITTLE STUFFIE lies nearby.

Set-up: The grizzled old TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT takes up his watch for the night.

LITTLE STUFFIE watches him, learning. A pair of evil eyes gleam underneath the bed. A dark shape with a nasty smiles
comes out from under the bed and looms over the sleeping child.

Catalyst: The MONSTER lunges at the child. LITTLE STUFFIE cowers in fright. TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT swings around and blocks the monster.

Debate: LITTLE STUFFIE wants to help, but is too afraid.

Act Two Plot Point: the sleeping child rolls over, knocking TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT and MONSTER across the room.

B Story: LITTLE STUFFIE watches the action from the end of the bed.

Fun and Games: TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT and MONSTER fight across the room using the other toys, furniture, books and other props in the room to fight.

Midpoint: MONSTER opens its chest wide, wide and sucks the TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT inside.

Bad Guys Close In: Inside, TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT is surrounded by his greatest fears: being forgotten by the child, pulled into pieces, thrown in the trash, given to the dog.

All is Lost: TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT fights with the nightmare images.

Dark Night of the Soul: With one last monumental effort, TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT'S sword rips MONSTER apart.

Act Three Plot Point: LITTLE STUFFIE watches as TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT, totally spent, drops his sword and slips beneath the bed onto the floor.

Finale: The sleeping child rolls over and reflexively reaches out and grabs LITTLE STUFFIE. A shaft of moonlight hits LITTLE STUFFIE. She raises her head, accepting The Call to be the next defender.

Final image: As the camera pulls away, TEDDY BEAR KNIGHT/NEW MONSTER's eyes gleam malevolently from under the bed.
