Making Life More Complicated, but hopefully More Rewarding, as well 25 February, 2017

My upstairs neighbour Rob is a 3rd year audio student at SIT.  We had a chat today about the possibility of his using my video game Nightmare Nursery for his Audio Games class this semester.  He would need about 10 minutes of game play to use NN as his game for class.  If I fix up the mazes and add the 3 rooms off the foyer, he thinks that would create 10 minutes of game play, easily.  And since he likes to play games, he was able to give feedback on what I've done on the game so far.  I would LOVE to have a complete level to show prospective employers.  And really good playing scenes for my showreel, too.  In amongst all the other things I'm doing, I will design more rooms: kitchen, conservatory and parlour.  If I keep to the octagon-shape of the foyer and change the colour scheme of the floor and wallpaper, I should be able to keep the work load down.  I can recycle the table and mirror and all of the plants, too.  I won't create new puzzles for each room.  I need a coder to make the level one challenges I have now work; alphabetizing the calling cards, collecting the door knockers and Lady Greigh's glasses, opening doors, and getting the right range of motions into Lulu.  Moving the camera back so the player can see what's coming and where they're going is also a priority.   Putting the colliders back on the walls so Lulu doesn't bust through and fixing the door width in Maya!
