BSA324, Pitch Bible printing through Blurb, 18 August, 2017

Chris showed me how to set a book up for printing with  Blurb using InDesign. The book gets set up with number of pages, re-edited in Photoshop (because I had done all the layout using dimensions that were NOT an option with the printer), and loaded into InDesign.  Over, and over, and over again.  Once everything was loaded up and jockeyed around, I exported it in PDF to check for mistakes.  That also took lots of minute adjustments.  This lovely PDF I can send to Pitch THIS! and to friends and tutors for feedback.  Let no one say that pitch bibles are something you can whip up in an afternoon; I'm sure that I've spent 50 hours on layout alone over the course of two pitch bibles prototypes.  And if each full page of images takes 4-6 hours each, and an hour for each page of writing that makes roughly 120 spent on art.  I'm guessing that prototype 003 will require another 6 hours of art, 1 hour of writing, 8 hours for front and back cover art, and 6 hours of editing to complete.  I will TRY to make one more illustration and dialogue page, just to wrap up the episode I've laid out, this weekend.  And Rachel says it should be with Kiwi English spellings, so I've got to run it all through spell checker before I show it to Chris for final proofreading Monday.

Here's the order of pages:
This keeps changing, which shouldn't surprise me, as pages get juggled around.  It'll change again if I get those last two pages in.

I will go with this logline.  Why not?  Feedback will help sort out anything that needs sorting.

I put this in for Anna's benefit and kept it because why not?  If the music is part of the show, it should be part of the pitch.
This may not be relevant to a pitch because the rendering style has changed from painting to collage, but it's good for showing relationships between the characters. At what point should I change that croc to a tuatara and the hamster to possum?  Or is it even necessary?
I've added in sketches to fill the "dead space" above the bio.  Since they weren't created specifically for that space, it's been a bit of a mission to get them all placed.  Will get feedback on that.

I don't do much sketching with Flash and this group scene, while interesting, doesn't fit in with the motion studies of the rest.  Should it be replaced?  Or can I run with it?  Maybe they'll all need interaction/relationship drawings.
These motions studies are good to have because they show Goldie's worry side.

Theoretically, this should be a two-page spread.  We'll see after it prints if it was successful.

This emotion sheet used to be with girl on her beanbag but got moved down here in the shuffle.  It works!

The placement of this last non-sequitur illustration may not work.  Will get feedback.
