BSA324, seminar powerpoint, 3 August, 2017

site:  where is it going and how are you engaging with your audience?  Think about final delivery.
80% content, 20% structure worth 15 points out of 100 for whole class.
Start with what the project is, show lots of pictures.  The project is king and this is about the practical aspects of the work.

Talk about themes, story, art, characters and artist models who influenced me.

Don't make absolute statements, leave it open ended with statements like "I hope to develop a body of research around..." so proof of research isn't required.

Powerpoint is due Friday and I will deliver my seminar talk Tuesday at 12.30.  Presence at all lunchtime seminars all week (M-Th) is required.

From BSA324 handbook:
Present a 10-minute seminar on the development of your major project outlining your current direction and the key aspects, which have been informing the production of your work. Discuss key works and make evident your critical engagement with and understanding of the material with which you are working. Critically reflect on what it is to be a practitioner in your field in 2017 and give an outline indication of the direction, which you plan to take in building and concluding your major project.

The finished seminar must:

 Outline the key aspects of your project and discuss your current direction and indicate how you intend concluding your project  Make evident your critical, analytical and reflective engagement  Articulate a convincing argument of your intentions as a practitioner  Demonstrate a thorough understanding of any relevant theory associated with your work.   Discuss and articulate the significance of site and audience to your work.   Back up your arguments with relevant references and practitioners.   Discuss your project within the context of animation practice.  Work shown and discussed may include developmental and resolved work.   Be well structured and presented.

Here's what I've got for my seminar:  23 slides to cover in ten minutes.  I'll have to do a practice talk and make myself some note cards, too.
