Episode 1: “Getting to Know You” Puppets work on conflict resolution when they
meet new people and things that are said may be taken wrong. Puppets start to drag around increasingly
larger suitcases and baggage full of grudges.
Starts with little bag then more and bigger until the puppet sitting on
top or in the middle and can’t function because of all of them.
Episode 2: “Popularity”
The puppets must deal with jealousy when somebody is liked more than
they are. An Indian peacock puppet moves
in to town and the others get jealous because he’s so pretty and more popular
than them, or so they think. The puppets
think that if they dress just like him, people will like them more, too. “Happiness comas” erupt all over town- the
puppets drop over because they’re suppressing their anger and upsets so hard
that they go catatonic. “I’m… so…
happy. Yes… very… happy.” Dr. Picklesniffer is called in to render
medical assistance.
Episode 3: “Notes”
The puppets must deal with a stream of mean notes being circulated. The puppets lie on their backs looking up at
clouds and disagree about what shapes they see. They argue about it until
Klohwii has them change places with each other.
They do so reluctantly, then discover that the other one was right! It
does look like a strawberry! It does
look like a giant squid! They go off for
a friendly meal of strawberry-coated squid.
Klohwii looks at the camera and says “I’m glad they finally worked that
out. Actually, I think it looks like an angel fish.” Jellybean honks in disagreement and she looks
over at him…
Episode 4: “Surprises” The puppets must learn to get
along or “deal with it” when things come up that they didn’t expect. Meatballs and spaghetti for dinner when they
were sure it was beans on toast night!
The yellow swing at the playground is broken and the slide is wet! It’s the day for flying paper kites and it’s
raining! Their best friend usually plays
with the red ball but today they want to play with the favourite purple
ball. The puppets literally bottle up
their anger until the bottle explodes.
Episode 5: “Birthday party”. The puppets deal with frustrating things at a
birthday party. Prickles the Puffer Fish
gets so angry that he keeps popping the balloons. The binge- eating possum keeps throwing
herself at the cake. The “wrong” guests
show up while the “right” guests don’t come.
Somebody thinks that a jigsaw puzzle of trucks is a good present and the
birthday puppet disagrees! All the gummy
ice cream gets eaten and chocolate cake is served instead of vanilla cake. Etc.
Episode 6: “Bully”
The puppets must deal with either a big tough puppet showing up and
physically intimidating them into doing things THEIR way or a small bossy
puppet who tells them what to do. A
little mouse puppet is making a big shadow on a screen with a shadow puppet and
a flashlight. Shouts, “Ignore the mouse
behind the curtain!“ when he gets caught.
The threat from the mouse bully is easily dissipated when they see he’s
way more scared of them than they are of him and acts tough to compensate. Standing up to him makes him go away. Could also be a weta cockroach which would be
massively scary looking when blown up really big on screen. A firefly is the lantern? Weta blackmails/shames the puppets using
information it has overheard sneaking around small.
Episode 7: “Farewell”
One of the puppets’ friends is moving out of town and they must deal
with angry feelings about the separation.
They pick fights with each other so they can distract themselves and won’t
have to feel sad. This is a good time to
have Dr. Picklesniffer in to “diagnose” the problem.
Episode 8: “Fibs” the puppets have to work out what
to do when someone is obviously lying.
The puppets argue over racing snails- good sports and bad sports. The puppets think that they need to be
exactly like another to be liked. They
run around wearing masks of each other.
Rough burlap/hessian sacks and glue masks like “Big Baby”. Possum even makes herself long legs that
look like Klohwii’s.
Bonus episode: “Sibling Rivalry” sharing:
puppets deal with brother sister issues or taking turns. What to do when two people want the same
thing.
